Abstract
Portal venous aneurysm is a rare and sometimes dangerous vascular pathology, which
can result in thrombosis or rupture. We present the computed tomography, magnetic
resonance, and sonographic imaging of a 27-year-old man with superior mesenteric venous
aneurysm and subsequent thrombosis following acute pancreatitis. This multimodality
imaging approach can prove useful in the evaluation of these rare aneurysms.
