of the musculoskeletal system; of the soft tissues, such as the skin and the peripheral
nerves; and of related abnormalities, such as degenerative diseases, traumas, inflammatory
conditions, and tumors. The last chapter reviews the echo-guided US procedures, while
a special chapter deals with the role of US in the study of rheumatoid arthritis.
The reader is given the proper information regarding the indications and technical
guidelines, with a review of the normal anatomy of the anatomical segment to be studied.
