This 10th edition of the greatly revered textbook of Pediatric Radiology is a remarkable
change from its first appearance in 1945 with a single author, Dr. John Caffey, as
stated in the forward, a founding father of the specialty of Pediatric Radiology.
His book produced a body of information, not only established in the medical literature,
but also insights and approaches to imaging the pediatric patients, and establishing
for many what normal is, so important in detecting and describing the abnormal. Much
clinical information was included, as Dr. Caffey was a pediatrician.
