Abstract
Emphysematous gastritis is a rare, often lethal condition of gastric mural inflammation
and gaseous dissection. Infection with gas-forming organisms is the most frequently
cited cause. In all previously reported patients, the clinical presentation was dramatic.
We report on an immunocompromised host who had a surprisingly subtle clinical presentation.
